The Neva Endin Journey

Eva wondered how it feels to be in a group of 300 people of Indians in another country ? Awesome !!!! Previously i posted on how "not-bothered" Indians are in this place but yest changed my view a little ... atleast a little ! There were rounds of an charity event going to be held by a group called " Asha foundation " via emails and messages ... Now this group holds events for Indians once in a while in different countries and whateva money is collected is givin to the charity called Asha foundation which is used for building schools for the poor in India! It was about a ten minute ride from our place and tickets were purchased at the event entrance ( n free lollypops were given , don ask me why ! But we had it happily n lots ! or probably it was for the children .. but i saw more students and elders have them ) .

We entered to see all of them dressed traditionally n we were like " WTF " ! There were so many people actually communicating ! lol .. Anyway we decided not to socialize , instead go check out what was in the menu cos of the lack of indian food in our digestive system ! :) WE first had snacks , the options were : Idli Sambar , Potato bhoonda , Bhel Puri !! N then came the hit of the nite : Lassi ! It was so thick n so good ! :) wel, there was mango lassi , Beer , Softdrinks n etc etc ... ! and i did see some boys mix beer with lassi to drink somehow without lettin their parents know ! Yhheeeww. For the main course , there were too options : desi thali and punjabi thali ! I still don know wha i had but it was great ! spicy food in Netherlands ! wel wha more can u ask for ... !! Abt the Indian chicks in Netherlands ... Disappointin ... ! CMON !! we are about 1.5 billion people in India , cant you ppl export some1 good to Netherlands ??!??

Then the music began ... this is exactly when everyone went insane n grabbed the two wooden sticks to start playing Dandiya like they knew it ! lol n yes i forgot to mention , it was the Dandiya night !!! :) People formed a huge circle n started playing dandiya with everyone else and yes every1 sucked at it ! It was fun seein people who were learnin dandiya for the first time .. it was hilarious !! n i tried it 2 but i knew the very second i started it was gonna be funny ! n yes it was ! so the conclusion i arrived to is that dandiya is defn not for me ! But it was nice to see people trying to play ! N then came some individual performances by some girls .... Not bad !!! :)

Wel the day ended at 10:30 and as we went out we smuggled more lollypops from the event entrance !! :) I just hope we have more indian meets in Eindhoven ! :)

Wel in the end the amount made for the foundation must have been about 4000 Euros, i guess ... wel that is roughly about 2,60,000 rs ! Not bad Aeh :) Well i think the next meet will be coming soon this Diwali !! yipeeeee :)

PS : The Ticket money goes to the charity and also a percentage of the revenue of the food and the drinks made ....
