Welcome To The Indian Side in Netherlands!
In short "SUCKS !!!!! " !! Indians dont recognize each other in Netherlands ! I'v heard that would happen before coming here , But after comin here , i realised its so true ... ! I thgt Indians were friendly n etc etc ! But come on , they dont even smile !!! Not that i want them to smile , but come on !!!!! Better are the dutch people !
About the Dutch ppl , Helpful for the all the small things n nice things , but not for the required stuff like Studies !! :)
The Cost of Food : The cost of a "single" meal in a good hotel in Netherlands is roughty equal to about having lunch for thirty days in India in hotels like Dollops and Food court ! Woww i miss those places ( so cheap n so tasty )!
Avg Cost of Food :
Chicken Biryani : 15 Euros ( esp naming it cos i love it ) !
!! Now convert that in Indian Rs n get set to be amazed ! For the ppl who dint know ... 1 Euro is 65 Rs , so do the Math urself ( 15 * 65 ) !
McDonalds meal : 5 Euros ( Burger + 3 - 4 pieces of French Fries + the smallest possible glass of pepsi ) ! But im atleast glad this place exists !
It feels amazin to eat out once in a while ! Just eatin while u don cook feels grt ... ! I sometimes wonder what pleasure do people in Hotel management get ? They cook for others n thats it !! Phew .. i'd never do that !
One thing , all students learn after comin here is to never convert the prices here with the indian standard, else u'd never eat or buy anythin !
But the standard of livin is high and so is the money we get for monthly allowances .. so this place is paradise ! :)
N yes its Freakin cold !!!! u wil have to end up with atleast 2 shirts and a jacket on you ... ! Normal temperature right now is about 14 degrees , sometimes going to as low as 11 ! But in the winter season it reaches 0 degrees ! WEll that is what im not waitin for !!
One thing very strange about this place is there is no MRP for any item ! The same biscuit packet can cost any amount in any shop ! Sometimes its like 2 Euros on one day n the next day it is like 1.5 Euros n the next day its like 2.5 Euros ! its like a Lottery game ! IF your lucky you will happen to buy it for a moderate rate !
Different shops have different rates ! how cool is dat ! :) So its all luck !!
N yes not to mention , the word " SPICY " just doesnt exist in this place !
Now Lets talk about what interests people the most , Partyin !!!!
Thursday is the student Night --->
Wel that means every student in Eindhoven comes to the pub street to drink n get high to glory ! There are some great pubs n discs which play English music ! But the problem in some pubs are that they repeat the some dutch songs again n again n again n again .. dat the next time it plays .. u wil know the whole song already and sing along the tunes with it !!! MAn its AMAZIN !!! and yes Old ppl r not allowed on Pub street atleast on thursday !! They get starred and Booed at ! :)
Friday is another party nite --->
Plz note people love to relax here ! everythin closes at 5 in the evenin .. So every1 has their dinner by 7 or 8 and then take a cycle n ride to pub street Cos anyway Saturday is a holiday for every1 !
Saturday jst got bigger --->
The people from the other villages come to the pub street n so do all the students n every1 living !!! So its damn crowded !!!!
N you can never get bored of that place .. come on , its got like 100 pubs / discs !!
Theres a tradition here called " Pub Hopping " !!! Sounds funny but true .. People just jump from one pub to another n stay in a pub for 10 - 15 mins n move to another ! So every pub is always crowded ! :)
and i so badly want to check my weight too see if iv lost weight or gained but unfortunately neva seen the weighin machines nor seen a place to buy the weighin scale ! :)
And The funniest part of all !!!!
There is an Indian guy who is so freakin jobless whos always in the pub street taking pictures of People for some price .. probably abt 5 Euros !! n he is there every freakin day with his camera which is an antique one , which prints out the snapz immediately !!! Man he goes behind people askin if they want snapz .. ! n m sure half the drunk people in that street just smile for him n never pay n go off !!!

Man do u even get time to study ? Wid so many pubs around, I wudnt even dare to think of studying.
hey...dis post seemed 2 b intersting...i did feel i m already on d roads of d city... Begging!!!!!!! cos everything costs too much... poor Indian!!! wen i read d price of food... i felt pity on his jobless life..no money...no food..
does he even get a bite a cheap biscuit???
